THE THING WITHIN A CIRCLE BY JOSEPH-SAM SARAH

THE THING WITHIN A CIRCLE. ( A short story).
   EPISODE ONE
You had thought life was a 3D movie and so it would be for you, but the thorny storms made it seem like the horrific scenario in Hollywood crimes and chaise.

It would have just been the perfect horror if your phone had not jerked loudly this afternoon.
  'Hello Ene'. It was Ann.
Curious about her excited tone, you asked.
  'Whats up with the call?'
  'He proposed'. She replied.
  'And who is the HE?'
'Tobun Oluwagbenga. My boss in the office'.

The name consciously rang a blow in your heart that made you stutter.
  'To-bu-n O-lu-wa-gb....?
'Are you okay, do you know him?.
   The line went off.

Was this a slithering scene of your subconsciousness?, she might be playing tricks on your imaginations or rather unfolding up fifteen years of dazzled taunts but she was  just your sister-in-law to be, Your fiance's junior sister and you were the older female sibling she would always look up to.

Brazened by reality, you wanted to scream, to curse out loud but you had Nelly, that little face that kept you going without wavering, the teenage warmth you felt anytime you view life kaleidoscopically still and fear not the aging past.

Changing into the yellow heel less flip-flop and tucking in the white shirt into your ash coloured freelance trousers, you carried your burdened body out of your office, past the curious faced secretary, then your drama queen receptionist wearing an expression too sour to mind.

Everything seemed a new strangeness. The range rover sport hissed differently, its tyres squealed with tarnished pride and the air condition felt terribly hot.
Today was not the school's mid term wards assessment, the school had not vacated neither was it a called-for occasion of some sort, the matron had not called either. The urge to hold her pushed down the running voices in your ears to still calmness.

 You want to see her.
