WHO SERVES WHO
I grew up knowing leaders either appointed or elected are to serve
Giving up their time, money, strength and verve
I grew up knowing leaders are to sacrifice
Give advice, always being precise
I grew up knowing leaders are to love and care
Knowing God is above whom they fear
But all of a sudden, humanity now has no gravity
Words of peace,  have turned words of insanity
Hands that once fed us
Now bring starvation to us
Thought the bible says “promise is a debt”
But now I guess promise has become a threat
Leaders whom we appointed or elected
Have now become thorns in our flesh by which we are all affected
Democracy used to be ‘of the people, by the people and for the people’
Now it appears it’s against the people
WHO SERVES WHO
It’s all about the national cake
Pretense all over, we fail to know who is fake
They come before us making empty promises
which we believe as they run their lips like sieves
Because they want to lead
And show their talent of greed
We now serve them instead of them serving us
We now feed them instead of them feeding us
We now work for them instead of them working for us
WHO SERVES WHO.
