WHY?

Why has wickedness ravage the world,
And corruption filled the cloud,                                     
Why are you (son of man) afflicting your fellow,
Is it because you are rich and he's below.

You remove the landmarks,
Seize their flocks violently and create for yourself a park,
You drove away the donkey of the fatherless,
Just because you know he's helpless,
You took the widow's ox as a pledge,
Just because you know she's less privileged,
You push the needy off the road of success,
Climb it up and cut off the ladder of success,
Just because you've gathered enough and even have excess.

Why is the universe filled with self-centeredness,
Not a single person wants to be honest,
You make other people cry just because of your own happiness,
Alarming for joy shouting you won't relent,
Until you get it all to the fullness.

Why can't we love ourselves in one love,
Live together with one bond,
Put away race, gender, tribe and favoritism,
Share one love without criticism.
